Collects and stores births, deaths, marriages, family and business history and items related to the area between the Ashley and Waipara Rivers (former Kowai County) in North Canterbury. Material is stored in the former Kowai County Office, which has a Class 2 designation from the Historic Places Trust.
Our building has recently been repaired and strengthened. Volunteers work Wednesday afternoons and visitors are welcome 1.30-3.30pm or by appointment, email: kowai.archives at gmail.com
